Overview

JCB India Limited is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Manager for Assembly Production to join our Assembly Business Unit in Jaipur. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic production team within a globally recognised company, focused on assembling high-quality machinery components that meet stringent performance standards. The Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence by ensuring safety compliance, quality delivery, cost efficiency, and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: Foster a safety-first culture by promoting safe work practices, leading daily safety briefings, enforcing use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and proactively addressing any unsafe behaviours or conditions. Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards.
• Training & Competence: Oversee the induction, training, and continued development of team members to secure competence in all assembly processes and emergency procedures. Implement and maintain a comprehensive training matrix to identify and close competency gaps.
• Hazard & Incident Management: Identify potential hazards within the production environment, execute effective risk control measures, and ensure timely reporting and investigation of incidents and near misses. Escalate critical safety issues to senior management as necessary.
• Quality Assurance: Lead quality assurance efforts by upholding standards aimed at Right First Time (RFT) delivery, actively challenging any non-conformance, and collaborating on root cause analyses and corrective actions to consistently meet customer and organisational expectations.
• Delivery Performance: Manage production schedules and monitor progress to meet or exceed delivery targets. Facilitate clear communication of any changes and ensure seamless shift handovers to maintain operational continuity.
• Cost Control: Maintain stringent control over production costs, including labour, scrap, and consumables. Monitor budget adherence closely, analyse variances, and promptly escalate issues that may impact financial targets.
• People Leadership: Organise team resources effectively to optimise productivity. Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, conduct regular performance briefings, and support continuous skills development to create a motivated and capable workforce.
• Communication: Ensure timely, transparent communication within the production team and across supporting departments. Maintain accurate documentation and data related to training, performance metrics, and operational updates.
• Continuous Improvement: Act as a champion for lean manufacturing principles by driving process improvement initiatives. Manage problem-solving boards, facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams, and support the implementation of the JCB Production System to enhance efficiency and quality.
