Job Purpose

The Assembly Production Engineer is responsible for managing day-to-day assembly shop operations to achieve production targets in line with safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity requirements. The role focuses on production planning, manpower management, line balancing, and continuous improvement in assembly operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily assembly production activities to meet defined production targets and cycle times.
  • Plan and execute shift-wise production activities, including line balancing and manpower deployment.
  • Prepare and review production plans and manpower plans as per the production schedule.
  • Improve productivity through cycle time studies, bottleneck identification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure on-time dispatch and adherence to customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintain Daily Work Management (DWM) boards using SQCDM methodology and drive countermeasures for deviations.
  • Monitor and control consumable usage to optimize manufacturing costs.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
  • Maintain daily production records, generate monthly operational reports.
  • Perform production order creation and updates in SAP.
  • Support resolution of assembly-related customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and organizational systems.
