Senior Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – (Heavy Fabrication & Machining)
Department: Manufacturing Engineering – Projects
Location: JCB India Ltd. JAIPUR
Function: Manufacturing engineering | Fabrication | Machining | Paint Shop

Job Purpose:

To coordinate capital engineering projects within the heavy fabrication, machining, and paint shop domains. This role will drive capacity expansion, facility enhancement, and productivity improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management & Capital Expansion:
• Manage multiple projects and related budgets while aligning with corporate initiatives and long-term strategic plans.
• Prepare and release RFQs, technical specifications, layouts, and DAPs (Design Approval Processes) for new tooling and equipment.
• Equipment Trials & Commissioning:
• Conduct supplier trials, coordinate installation and commissioning activities, and ensure successful machine prove-out at site.
• Ensure timely validation and handover of equipment to operations.
• Process & Productivity Engineering:
• Conduct and document cycle time studies; implement line balancing and process optimization strategies.
• Develop and standardize manufacturing processes to ensure repeatability, quality, and productivity with Timely PCM closure.
• Maintain Manufacturing engineering KPIs such as productivity , fixture validation , Improvement projects delivery , Line issues resolution
• Technology & Continuous Improvement:
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives across fabrication and machining areas.
• Lead process/technology change programs, enabling capacity increase and operational excellence.
• Layout & Facility Design:
• Design and modify layouts for facilities, optimizing workflow and space utilization.
• Support high-productivity platform creation through ergonomic and scalable plant designs.
• Technical Expertise & Support:
• Provide technical support for New Product Introductions (NPI) and cross-functional projects.
• Ensure calibration and upkeep of installed equipment in line with engineering standards.
• Paint Shop Engineering:
• Improve paint shop processes, including powder coating and conveyor systems.
• Knowledge of MEP aspects of paint shops, including safe lifting/manual handling standards and fixture/hanger design.

• CNC Machining & Line Automation
• Paint Shop Operations (Powder Coating, Conveyors, Fixtures)
• Layout Planning & Industrial Engineering
• Cycle Time Analysis & Line Balancing
• Capital Equipment Procurement & Commissioning

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / production / industrial engineering or Diploma
• 4 to 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, preferably in construction equipment/Automobile/Auto-component Industry
• Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar methodologies
